SAVE THE DATE FOR THE ANNUAL MEETING: NOV 15th IN THE PAS CAFETEREA

All residents are invited to come and get acquainted with the new principal of the Penn Alexander School at this fall’s annual meeting of the Spruce Hill Community Association.

Michael Farrell took over as principal this fall. He was the founding principal of Mastery Charter‘s Thomas Elementary School in South Philadelphia, and was named in July to succeed Sheila Sydnor.

Besides agreeing to share his thoughts with the community, he’s graciously agreed to host the meeting in PAS’s own cafeteria. (PAS is at 43rd and Locust St.).

Due to a conflict with Election Day, SHCA’s annual meeting is a week later than usual this year — it will be on Tuesday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.m. Light snacks and refreshments will be served at 7:00 p.m.

There will also be updates on SHCA’s finances, activities over the last year and election of officers and board members. The current president, Eric Santoro, is unopposed for a second one-year term. Four other officers and 10 board members will be chosen, with bios of all the candidates available at the meeting.

Membership in SHCA is open to all. There will be an opportunity at the meeting to renew a membership or join for the first time. Dues are $20 a year.
