The SHCA is governed by a five member Executive Board and a 20 member Board of Directors.  Ten of the 20 directors are elected annually for two-year terms. [Bylaws were revised in 2005 and the board of directors downsized from 30 to 20  in 2006.] For more information about governance, see the bylaws.

Board meetings are from September to June, except for December, on the 2nd Tuesday of each month and are open to the public. Committees set their own meeting schedules.

The Spruce Hill Community Trust is the 501(c)3 arm of the Spruce Hill Community Association. The Trust's purpose is to carry out lawful business activities on a not-for-profit basis including, but not limited to, community economic development and combating neighborhood deterioration to benefit lower income persons.

The Executive Vice President of the SHCA acts as vice president of the Trust, and the Trust's directors (not less than 3 nor more than 15) are appointed by the Association. The directors meet on a quarterly basis with an annual meeting in January.
